We have an opportunity for an experienced Driver/Yard Support Operative to support our branch in Elland on a full time, permanent basis.

Myers Building & Timber Supplies has 17 branches throughout Yorkshire and is part of the family-owned Myers Group. We are looking to recruit a motivated individual with a positive attitude to join our committed and experienced team supplying a whole range of building materials including bathrooms. Duties and Responsibilities

Driving Licence 3.5-ton Category B

Ensure vehicles are loaded securely before starting any delivery/journey

Delivering product to our customer whilst always maintaining a polite and professional manner

Conduct daily vehicle checks ensuring any defects are reported using the appropriate documentation

Communicate efficiently with all members of the team providing them with clear instructions and feedback on schedules, deadlines, time scales and quality of work

Support and conduct yard activities as and when necessary, including maintain stock in yard ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately in full

Take direction from the line manager on matters relating to yard activities and keep them informed of any matters that may impact the branch

Maintain safe and efficient yard operation to ensure a consistent high standard of appearance, safety and security – flow of traffic, unloading, loading and despatch of stock, equipment and plant inspections, housekeeping

Liaise proactively with customers on a day to day basis whilst undertaking your driving delivery and any relevant yard duties in order to fulfil customers needs.

Seek and continuously develop product knowledge

Any other reasonable duties which may be required by the Company from time to time, as instructed by or under the direction of your line manager

Clean driving licence

Are adaptable with a desire to learn and develop with the business

Good geographical knowledge of the branch location and surrounding area

Have knowledge of building products or timber sales or related trades

Enjoy working as part of a team

Fork lift truck experience would be an advantage although training will be provided
