As we continue to grow, we have been awarded new long-term contracts and are seeking skilled Trainee Drainage Operatives to join our busy team for both pre-planned and emergency works. This is a physically demanding role with long hours, often requiring early mornings, late nights, and weekend shifts. If you are not fully prepared to commit to the necessary working hours, this may not be a suitable position for you.

The role involves working at various locations across the UK, not just locally. You must be willing to travel and stay away from home as necessary.

All terms and conditions, including working hours, pay, and travel expectations, will be discussed in detail during the interview process.

Basic earning potential of £35,100 annually (7am to 6pm, contracted to 50 hour week)

Hourly rate of £13.50 per hour, with overtime paid at time and a third and/or time and a half as applicable

As a Trainee Drainage Operative, you will:

Operate various equipment and vehicles to address a wide range of drainage issues, including emergency call-outs, blockages and routine maintenance and high pressure water jetting

Perform general drainage works as required

The following are desirable, however full training can be provided:-

CSCS, HPWJ, Medium Risk Confined Space, EUSR Water Hygiene, NRASW Signing, Lighting and Guarding certifications

The following are essential requirements for the role:-

You must be able to drive with a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points

Well-organised with a positive, can-do attitude

Ability to work both as part of a team and independently

Effective and polite communication with clients and colleagues across commercial, residential and industrial sites

Willingness to undertake training and development as needed

You must operate in accordance with Health, Safety and Quality procedures

You must demonstrate flexibility in your approach to working overtime

Willingness to work nights, weekends and early starts - we operate 24/7/365

Able to work away as required

A competitive salary will be discussed which is based on your skills and experience

You will be included in our on-call rota (approximately one week in four)

All offers of employment are dependent on successful drug and alcohol testing and DBS checks

Salary is monthly paid
