Location: North West England (covering Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Cumbria)
Reports to: Drainage Supervisor / Operations Manager
Job Type: Full-Time (with overtime and on-call rota)
Job Purpose
To carry out a full range of drainage maintenance, repair, and installation works across domestic, commercial, and industrial sites. The role involves diagnosing and resolving drainage issues efficiently while ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out high-pressure water jetting, CCTV drain surveys, drain repairs, and planned & reactive maintenance.
Identify and resolve blockages, leaks, and structural issues within drainage systems.
Operate specialist drainage equipment safely and effectively.
Record findings accurately using handheld devices or CCTV survey software.
Liaise with customers on-site, providing updates and explaining work carried out.
Work as part of a team or independently across a regional patch in the North West.
Complete risk assessments and adhere to company health & safety policies.
Participate in an on-call rota for emergency drainage work (including evenings/weekends).
Ensure vehicles, tools, and equipment are maintained in a clean and serviceable condition.
Support training and mentoring of junior staff when required.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience in drainage, plumbing, or utilities work.
Knowledge of drainage systems and common repair techniques.
Experience with jetting units, vacuum tankers, or CCTV survey equipment.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
Full UK Driving Licence (Category B) — HGV Class 2 an advantage.
Desirable Qualifications
CSCS card or equivalent site safety qualification.
Confined Space Entry and High-Pressure Water Jetting certification.
CCTV Survey (MSCC5) or NADC accreditation.
First Aid, Streetworks (NRSWA), or Manual Handling training.

Working Hours & Conditions
Typically 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Regular overtime and emergency call-out shifts available.
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions; physical and hands-on role.
Company van, fuel card, PPE, and uniform provided.
