Location: Macclesfield

Salary: £18.00-18.50 per hour

A leading manufacturer in the furniture sector is seeking an experienced Upholsterer to join their Macclesfield-based team. This role involves both new upholstery and reupholstery work on a variety of furniture pieces using fabric or leather, requiring excellent craftsmanship and precision.

Key Responsibilities

Upholster and reupholster furniture based on job specifications and customer requirements

Measure, cut, and sew fabric or leather to fit frames precisely

Use hand and power tools to remove old upholstery and fit new materials

Inspect and repair frames as needed to ensure structural integrity

Assemble components with accuracy and alignment

Maintain production deadlines while meeting high quality standards

Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum 5 years’ experience in professional upholstery

Skilled in using hand tools (staple guns, hammers, scissors, etc.) and sewing machines

Mechanical knowledge of furniture construction

Comfortable working in a manufacturing or warehouse setting

Strong attention to detail and fabric manipulation skills

Ability to lift and move furniture as part of daily duties
